Future Technology in Design

With technology, advancing so fast its only evidence that the future will bring a lot of changes in our lives. In design, there will be changes in technology and visuals.

We will have more advanced software and computers in the future which will allow us to create sleeker and more defined work quicker.

Minimalism

The future is said to be more minimal which mean poster designs will partake minimal imagery, and the majority will focus on a well-developed icon image. Movies themselves will advance and become more visually technical however in contrast posters will be more subtle.

Infographics

Infographics are also said to take over in the future. They are an effective way to present information to the audience.  Graphic Design will move with technology to create new concepts. We will move to a world where we replace all paper and analogue items to digital.

Vintage

Graphic designers may also be asked to take a new approach to vintage logos and to vamp them up to something modern and sleek. Therefore as designers, it’s important to research past vintage designs for future design inspiration.

Block images

Sites like Instagram and Pinterest have gained global recognition and will only increase their numbers in the future. The aesthetic of using images to replace words is a way of the future. In the future, we will use the concept of block imagery and create a majority of sites using this concept. Block images break language barriers so these types of sites can be accessed by anyone regardless of their background language. As in the past, we used images and icons for communication in caves. It is evident that this concept will remain for conversation as its effectiveness has been going on for centuries.

Responsive design

The audience and the viewer will be involved in design as the designer. Today we view a website, and numerous devices, however, can’t change it to our liking. In the future, this will be more accessible to the viewer, and they can change the size and also base the site on their current mood.

Flat designs

Will need to find something more elegant that embraces four dimensions which will then replace the flat design of today that contain no gradients and shadows.

Freedom in typography

Typically we are said to use one or two typographical fonts in book designs.  In the future, we can change this by maximally using each word in a different typeface. Though I feel this may appear slightly crazy, it seems like the way of the future. In the future, we will be on a creative marathon of bizarre typographical ideas.

Rebranding

With logos and companies being well-known globally it will be challenging to rebrand a famous logo. For this reason, many companies may refrain from rebranding and keep their existing logo to avoid customer dissatisfaction. This is mainly due to the mass populations love for the logos. A change can cause controversies, and no brand wants to risk losing customers.

What do you think of the possible future?
